Reiki Testimonial by Annie C. I am 57 years old and recently had a bad fall off my horse. I had badly bruised ribs and lots of trauma to the entire right side of my body. I had my trainer take me directly to Carol’s at Nan’s Rock Shop for a Reiki session; I felt sure that this would help my recovery. I have taken my Level I Reiki so I have a good understanding and belief in what Reiki is and how it works. I know that this quick response helped me to heal much faster than I would have normally. I had a follow-up Reiki session in a week. It is now 2 ½ weeks and I am back in the saddle and going on a 5 hour trail ride tomorrow. I seriously believe Reiki made a difference. Reflexology Testimonial by Lisa F. I have known Carol for a number of years as a friend, sister, teacher, mentor and healer. The Universe led me to her exactly when I needed and it still does to this day. I have received various treatments at the Shop and have found them all wonderful and healing but above all the most luxurious is Reflexology. During the course of Reiki treatments with Carol she would always ask me if I would like a little dessert at the end. That dessert was reflexology. It was wonderful. I like to say that it is better than sex. As a person who feels that the seat of my soul (and the last place that issues resolve in my body) are my feet, I always said to myself that I needed to book a full reflexology session with Carol but I never did. Until this past spring. That session was one of the most life changing treatments that I have ever received (and I have had many). Not only does it relax and soothe a person and pamper your feet (Gals who doesn’t need some happy feet?) but it was an emotional and spiritual release for me. Carol is truly talented in many ways but I feel that Reflexology is one of her true callings. By far more relaxing than a visit to a spa and more life changing than a trip to a sage this is what everyone needs to experience at least once in their lifetime. The power of reiki is something beyond what the mind can comprehend. That is exactly what makes it so special. It connects to parts of your mind, body and soul that you weren’t even aware of. It lifts away inner emotional pain that had long ago been shifted away from your thoughts and thoroughly comforts you in all the right ways! I have noticed a great impact on my inner emotional state after receiving reiki therapy. My favorite being Carol’s wonderful combo of reiki, swedish massage and reflexology. Everyone knows a massage is great, but she puts the cherry on top including a magnificent selection of essential oils with her amazing masseus skills. As for reflexology, the best foot massage ever! What makes it so? The fact that the muscles in your feet connect to various parts of your body which when sore can certainly effect your emotions. When I get Carol’s combo therapy I find I have an after glow that lasts at least 2 weeks. It is quite a unique feeling. After getting into such methods of healing I am going to be doing this for the rest of my life. That’s how much I enjoy it. Carol really has a good touch to her. I WAS GIVEN A GIFT That gift was Carol Layton and her business, Nan’s Rock Shop & Spiritual Center. In a time of spiritual, physical & mental crisis in the family, I was guided to drop in to the Center. I had never been there before. I was immediately welcomed into a knowledgeable, warm, caring environment and went home with some healing materials. I was so drawn to the Center and Carol, that I eventually offered to volunteer. Although I knew nothing about crystals, with Carol’s guidance and nurturing, I have learned a lot. After taking training with Carol, a Reiki Master/Teacher, and becoming a Certified Reiki Practitioner, I opened my own practice. I stand in awe of the Reiki balancing energy and my ability to channel it. I do what I love so I love what I do. Carol continues to guide & teach me and I love my volunteer days in the shop and all the interesting people I meet. My personal growth and physical, mental and spiritual well being have improved so much since my Reiki training, that I will continue taking higher levels of training.

Reflexology Testimonial: by Janet Hogg, Alysford, NS What does reflexology mean to me? I was asked that question the other day and the only response I could think of was my saving grace. I was being scheduled for lower back surgery and was loosing the feeling in my right arm. I was dealing with specialists and physiotherapists. I was being helped out of bed and my husband and I were talking of a chair lift and rails for the stairs. I was told I would never to be able to ride horses again and I was to be preparing for a life of pain and depression. Hence starts my first session. No feeling in my right leg and I was giving up. Within a few sessions there was a noticeable difference. The back specialist in Halifax watched as my lower back discs “ heal themselves” he says The neurologist working on my right side watched as the nerves started connecting again and the feeling was coming back right to the tips of my fingers and I can ride horses. Yes, reflexology was and is my saving grace. I continue with my sessions and it about every 4 to 6 weeks as preventative and maintenance. My body and my feet tell me if it has been too long.
